50 Ideas for Your Summer Bucket List

Summer is my favorite season.

I love our less rigid schedule and mornings when the kids sleep late. I love when they spend their evenings swimming, watching movies, or chasing fireflies. I love popsicles, lemonade, and ice cream. I love water–lakes, creeks, and pools. I love hanging out with the kids without a lesson plan exploring things that interest them.

But, I’m a homeschool mom.

And something inside me won’t let me not plan.

Remember my Word of the Year? Diligence. Relaxing is okay (as I’m learning to do) and even necessary at times but, I can’t allow myself to become careless, disinterested, or negligent (all the opposite of diligent; I looked it up!).

This summer, I will be diligent in child training. I will be diligent in enjoying my children. I’ll be diligent in making memories. And for me, the natural planner that I am, that includes making a list. In this case, a summer bucket list.

I’ve composed a list of 50 fun things to do in the summer.

I doubt we’ll be able to do every single thing on this list, and I’m debating whether I should pare the list down or make it a game to see how many things we can get marked off. I’m leaning toward making it a game…
