Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance for Homeschool

When I was planning my oldest child’s senior year (this year), I knew that I wanted him to take a personal finance class. I didn’t want to send him out into the “great big world” without knowledge of how to handle his own money. And while I believe a parent can teach this without a curriculum, I knew that I was bound to leave gaps. Not to mention that some things are best taught (& learned) from a third party.

Since the Mr. and I have had success following Dave Ramsey’s suggestions for becoming debt-free and because I really enjoy his down-to-earth, no-nonsense practical advice, we decided on the Foundations in Personal Finance for Homeschool curriculum. It is a DVD-based curriculum that includes a workbook and access to tools and extra resources on the Foundations website.

And because I know that JC18 really enjoyed the in-real-life classes he was able to take in Ecuador (with other in-real-life students), we decided to invite other homeschoolers in our area to join us for this class. Ten local homeschoolers meet every Wednesday afternoon to learn directly from Dave Ramsey and his team. Thanks to the DVDs, I only need to facilitate the class and try to keep the discussion on-topic.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear the positive feedback from students and parents alike concerning all that they’re learning in this class. I mean, I knew I enjoyed the class, but I’m a nerd like that. Hearing that the kids are putting what they’re learning into practice is even better.

I highly recommend this curriculum for every student and parent. I am learning lots myself. And lucky for you, Foundations in Personal Finance for Homeschool is available at a discounted price at Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op this month. Too bad this deal wasn’t around when I purchased our curriculum and workbooks. We could’ve save a ton!

The regular price is $149.99 for the DVD curriculum and one workbook. Currently, the price is $99.99 at Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op, and it is very close to dropping to $89.99. (Prices drop depending on the number of orders placed.) This is a limited time offer, so don’t delay!
